ISE Library
Our library is the heart of our school!
Almost all of our buildings are connected to the library, which means that our library is right in the centre of our school.
The library is open from 8:30 to 16:30, and it is a great place for students and teachers to study, read, or hang out and play games with their friends. Our primary students -from UFD (Upper Foundation Department, age 4) to group 8 (age 12)- have regular weekly classes in the library.
The library has books for every age group and is divided into specific areas: an Early readers area with picture books, a Junior-level fiction and non-fiction in English, a Dutch Primary, a Middle-level, and a Senior-level library. We also have home language sections for each level, with 20+ languages available.
Did you know that this year alone, our library has lent out over 70,500 items; including 63,000 books and eBooks, which is more than 4000 books a week?!

ہیلو! I’m Anya, an MYP student in the secondary department and I have been at the ISE for two years. I love hanging out with my friends at the red booths in the library area playing games and having great conversations.
When I first joined, I felt super welcomed by our teachers. They are incredibly friendly and approachable. It’s comforting to know they’re always there to help. They encourage us to be independent learners, think outside the box and step out of our comfort zones. Plus, they’re big on collaboration, which has been super useful in life.
ISE provides a Buddy Program which helps all new students to settle in at school a bit easier. I have been a buddy for many new students and made so many new friends.
