More than a school
Our aim is to ensure that each an every ISE student is “known, cared for, and challenged”. As a school that serves families from 55 different countries, we recognise that we must also provide more than just an ‘education’ in its traditional sense. As a starting point, we help our students to develop their mother tongue while developing a second, or even a third, language. In so doing, we offer our students the opportunity to take part in an extremely diverse range of language pathways, both within and outside of normal lessons. Come and chat with our staff who would be happy to explain the possibilities that are currently available. We also accept that we have a wider role as an international school. We know that moving into a new country, region and community is not without its ambiguities, confusions and difficulties, and so we aim to make the process as easy as possible.
As a starting point, we work with organizations that are designed specifically to help you become settled as quickly as possible including the Expat Centre South. The Expat Centre provides newcomers with a ‘one-stop’ service for all the basics that they will need when they move to Eindhoven, from organizing a car license and residency cards to pointing you in the right direction in finding accomodation. They also hold information sessions on topics such as buying a property, and have volunteers who can answer questions in a range of languages.
At the ISE, we also help families to assimilate quickly into the region, by organizing language classes, information sessions and social events. We also help other schools and teachers in the region by organizing and leading professional development workshops including those that support learning and teaching through the use of technology. In the future, we will aim to widen our programmes to enable members of the wider international community to come together to learn, to develop, and network.
The International School Eindhoven (ISE) offers preschool, primary and secondary education for internationally-minded families within the Brainport Region of the Netherlands. Our spacious campus is ideally situated in a park-like setting and students benefit from our cultural diversity.
The ISE provides a caring and challenging learning environment which fosters international mindedness. We educate and inspire our students to become creative, resilient and responsible citizens who will thrive and be happy within an ever-changing world.
Embedded within these statements above are three key strategic directions. For a description of how we aim to move the school forward in each of these three directions please click on the links indicated below.
A. Our internationally-minded community are committed to being responsible citizens.
B. Our learning environment ensures that students are KNOWLEDGEABLE, cared for and sufficiently challenged.
C. The ISE community prepares students for an ever-changing world by developing their capacity for creativity.
