International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
The upper school follows the Diploma Programme, developed by the International Baccalaureate Organisation for students in the final two years of Secondary school. The IB diploma programme is a demanding pre-university course of studies, leading to examinations. Designed as a comprehensive two-year curriculum that allows its graduates to fulfil requirements of various national education systems, the diploma model is based on the pattern of no single country but incorporates the best elements of many. Beyond intellectual rigour and high academic standards, strong emphasis is placed on the ideals of fostering international understanding, cross-cultural awareness and responsible citizenship.
For students and families who are transitioning from MP5 to DP important information can be found below. This includes the DP Choice Form. These web pages aim to guide you through the IB Diploma and the subjects that the ISE offers. The IB Diploma is a challenging programme designed by the International Baccalaureate as a pre-university package of learning. Each of the subject groups and the IB Diploma core are explained and all subject courses reflect the current course outlines. Each subject group has a list of criteria for success in the Diploma Programme and grade as well as criterion requirements as a guide for the choice of standard level and higher level courses.
