The data relating to our students is called personal data. The purpose of the processing is for the optimal learning and guidance of our students and for the organisation necessary for this. In our privacy regulations you can read exactly what the purposes and bases for processing these personal data are for our school. We receive most of the personal data from parents (such as when enrolling in our school). For registration at the VO we receive the educational report from the elementary school, this is regulated in the laws WPO and WVO. In addition, employees of our school register data about our students, for example grades and progress. Sometimes special personal data is registered if this is necessary for the proper guidance of a student, such as medical data (think of dyslexia or ADHD). These special personal data can only be accessed by employees who supervise these students.

Student data is stored in our (digital) administration systems Somtoday and ParnasSys. These programs are secured and access to that data is limited to those who need the data to contribute to the purpose of the processing. We store personal data no longer than necessary for the purposes for which we collect the personal data.

During classes, we use a number of digital learning tools. This requires a limited set of personal data to, for example, identify a student when they log in to these resources. We have made clear agreements with our suppliers about the data they receive from us. The supplier may only use the student data if we give our permission which prevents misuse of that information by the supplier. If certain learning resources require international processing of data, we check that the supplier complies with the appropriate safeguards.

Parents have the right to see student records of and about their child(ren). From the age of 16 these rights pass to the student. If this student data is found to be incorrect, this information must be corrected. If the student data stored is no longer relevant to the school, you may ask to have that specific data deleted. For questions about exercising your rights, please contact us at privacy@silfo.nl.

For the use of photographs and/or video recordings of students on, for example, the school website or in the newsletter, we always ask your permission in advance via a consent form. Parents may always decide not to give such consent, or to withdraw previously given consent. Students 16 years and older may indicate what they consent to. If you have given consent, we will, of course, continue to treat photographs with care and weigh each time whether it is wise to post a photograph. If you have any questions about the use of photos and video recordings within our privacy regulations, please ask them at privacy@silfo.nl.

The International School Eindhoven makes use of camera surveillance. The camera images made are accessible to a very limited number of people and are not kept longer than necessary.

In accordance with the AVG, the International School Eindhoven has a Data Protection Officer (FG). The FG is an independent advisor and supervisor within the school in the field of personal data protection. The FG of the International School Eindhoven can be reached at fg@silfo.nl.
