Supporting Our Students
Ann Cloutier
Leader for Learning, Secondary Student Team

Bonjour! My name is Ann, I have been teaching at the ISE for 25 years. I am part of a team of teachers who strive to make sure every student feels seen and heard at our school. Our students come from many different backgrounds and cultures and our goal is to make them feel at home and develop a strong sense of belonging within our community.
TIP TO OUR NEW STUDENTS AT THE ISE:
We encourage our students to join clubs, take advantage of our extracurricular activities and take time to explore the local community and connect to their new environment.
The Learning Support Programme is for students who have identified and diagnosed learning needs. Our team of Student Coaches, Counsellors, Coordinators, Year Tutors, Learning Support Teachers, School Nurse, and Teaching Assistants work together to help the students and to coach them to be able to reach their individual success. They also guide teachers in working with students who need additional support. When needed, external specialists can also be involved in this process.
The student team and the year tutors are responsible for monitoring the progress and social and emotional development of the students and supporting them in their academic and ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills.
Service as Action and CAS activities help to create opportunities for students to focus on their social and emotional development skills. Helping with topics like problem-solving, taking responsibility, balancing school and life, and dealing with stress.
Our Career Counsellor helps upper-level students in the secondary department (starting from MP3-MP4) to make decisions about their next steps in post-secondary education.
Kevin Swinkels
Secondary Student Supervisor
Speaks Dutch, English, (basic) German and Spanish
I am Kevin, one of the four members of the secondary student/campus supervisors. Our job is to make sure that everyone on campus feels safe. The moment you see our remarkable orange jackets, you know that someone is keeping you safe. There are almost no incidents, but when there is a conflict we are there to solve them by speaking with the students to find solutions together. When necessary, we take the matter to the Year Tutors for their assistance.

The ISE is a very welcoming environment where you can be who you are and where every opinion matters! The role of the School Nurse is may not be that common at schools in the Netherlands, however we are happy to be able to provide our students an access to a medical professional.
We give the students a sense of security in knowing that if they are ill or injured while at school, there is someone there that can give them the attention and care needed to try to get well again. We provide first aid for injured students, a safe place for students to come and talk or seek help when feeling overwhelmed or anxious or troubled in some way while at school. We educate students, staff, and parents to promote health and wellness for our community.
MEDICAL ALERT
The ISE has put together a medical alert sheet for those children at our school with any medical issues, for example, allergies or physical problems. Our objective is for staff and other parties to be aware of any medical issues, and to be able to respond adequately in case of a medical emergency.
On this medical alert sheet, parents can list the nature of the medical issue (diagnosis), treatment, and/or medication. We also ask for parents to list people we can contact in case of a medical emergency.
Please download the Medical Alert and Permission to Administer Medication forms and contact the school office at primary@isecampus.nl or secondary@isecampus.nl to submit them.
